What a turn of events this month has been.

We had planned a pre-Tour interview with David anyway, and suddenly he was in the middle of a Twitter and media storm when he was pulled from the official 2014 Garmin-Sharp line up.

We spent the week with him and followed him being a pundit for ITV Cycling at the phenomenally popular Yorkshire Grand Départ. Ironically we all got see a lot more of him on TV and in person than we would have, had he ridden a bike.

Of course we would have all preferred him to do one more Tour, that's for sure. What a dramatic twist to his final season, who could have scripted this? The clip was taken near the Mall in London, which was the grand finish of Stage 3 of this year's Tour de France.
